This past Saturday, David Baker (davidb415), Michael McLaren (NCBlades), Chris Raymond (CPR), Steve Ferguson (ferguson), and myself went to the C&E Gun Show here in Winston-Salem. Afterwards, we went out to lunch at the Hero House deli to fill our stomachs and scare the patrons

Thanks to Chris "Who's Jim Weyer?" Raymond, we have captured the impromptu custom knife show for all to enjoy. There were Ralphs, Terzuolas, a couple custom Emersons, a Reif, Lightfoots, Carsons, and more.

I tried and tried to find a fixed blade in those pictures, but darn it all, all you guys have to show for yursorryselves is a whole big bunch of Broken knives... some very nice examples of broken knives, mind you, ...but next time, someone ought to get some of them fixed before ya go showing them off to everyone, will ya'll, please? It sho might make ya'll look a sight smarter and less apt to cave in under pressure from them Other folk.

Yeah, but did you get served George Herron's famous BBQ by Mr. George and his wife on Saturday? Barry and Phillip Jones, Otha, Alan Folts, Andrew McLurkin, GenO and Cindy Denning, Possum, and I did.

Y'all really should start coming to the NC Custom Knifemaker Guild quarterly meetings. Support your local guild!

Damn! Suddenly I feel as though I missed something. So where are the Herron and Denning fixed blades?

Sounds fun Kelly. I wish we could get the VA/DC/MD guys to be as regular and have as much fun as you guys seem to have. Maybe the secret is in the BBQ

Paracelcus,

I think Dexter had a Ralph fixed blade. We knew you'd be reading this post so we snuck one in there.

Kelly,

Ahh, so now we see whre your priorities are! Selling out the NCKK for a measly guild meeting, eh? Well, I bet we had more knives at our "show", so there!
wink.gif

Dexter,

You forgot to mention our "side trip".

Later,

ParacelSus (can I just call you Para?),

You're welcome to attend our shows. A Raleigh show and quick visit to Beck's Cutlery isn't as far as you'd think. We accept transplants with open arms (make sure you bring some expensive customs to donate to the NCKK cause

I'll take that bet! In addition to my collection, there were indeed a bunch knives by:

GenO Denning
Jones Bros.
Andrew McLurkin
Alan Folts
Mark Hazen
Bill Maynard
John Poythress
Wayne Whitley
Tim Scholl (who's going for his Mastersmith rating in June)
and many more...

Throw in the Herron BBQ, a bright sunny day, and good company...

Were the people properly barbequed Otha? How did they taste? The table shown looks particularly Al Dente

Paracelsus, not even atempting to control an irresistable urge to Eat

That's funny, that Bob Lum Chinese folder seems to always take center stage?

Cool group guys, sure wish I could make it to one of your meets!

Paracelsus- Couldnt tell the diffrence..I tried to get the recipe with no luck....So for my experince people taste like pork....

Guys, we had a blast. We really need to do this more often. We had lots and lots of other knives but just couldn't get them all on the table.

Hey Dex, where is the picture of you and I?

Hey Para, there was a Snody Compadre fixed blade there on the right side near the bottom of the picture.

Gary Grayley, that Chinese Lum is taking centerstage alot lately. Right now it is in my pocket ready to cut something.

Dexter had a very nice Jones Brothers fixed blade neck knife on that day but I just couldn't talk him out of it.

Lets do it again real soon!
