I got together with Iz Turley today for some woods time. We got out to the river valley and hiked up a small hill to a spot where we set up the tarp and built a fire. We did some tree ID, and charred some fungus, ate some MREs and had a bunch of laughs. I used the Gossman Tusker for fire prep. Im really liking this blade. Its a little out of the norm for me, but is becoming a favorite. I was too busy BSing and working on getting us a fire goin that I didnt take many pics. Iz shot some video while we were out though. I find that if im out with someone I take less pics cause im too busy flappin my jaws....lol
heres some pics....
Heres some of the shavings. I didnt take any more prep pics. lol
Fire....I used shavings and scrapings and the firesteel....
Iz workin with his awesome 10x10 BCUSA tarp.
This is one of my favorite blades ever. Its been used a ton since I got it. From prying open a storm door, to opening paint cans, breaking down boxes, food prep, and even some leatherwork.
I made a new mask for my 19in Wett last week. Turned out good. I like the stud better then a snap.
It was alot of fun hanging with Iz, and nice to get out and get some dirt time. Makes me look forward to the Hardwoodsman meet in May.
