hey, i'm curious...
i want to take one of the steel liners out of my 83mm manix. it's the one opposing the clip-side. from what i can tell, it's not tapped, and so it's not necessary for any screws to go into it to hold the knife together.
would it be possible to do? i don't think i need the steel liner (i'm sure the g10 side is plenty strong) and i think it would reduce a significant amount of weight from the handle. i'd just do it myself but one of the t9 screws is stuck. i'll go back to the hardware store later for another torx head, but if someone has already tried this and deemed it unsatisfactory, i won't waste my time.
