I lost my grip and planning to finally make the call and get 940 as griptilian was slightly too beefish for urban city use..almost looks like a standard cop issue size knife.

940 looks more sleek but i am worried it might be too tiny for my use..i think mini grip is too small so hope 940 is bigger than that?

i know length is long..but does it have thick belly?

The 940 has to be one of the most comfortable designs ever made for wearing in your pocket. The knife is sleek and very light weight. Personally I find it a great knife in the hand. Some consider the 940 to be one of the best knives for edc Benchmade has ever made, if not the best edc knife ever. The standard 940 with the reverse tanto blade has no real belly until the very end of the knife where the edge curves up slightly to meet the tip. Because of the reverse tanto the radius of this curve is fairly small.

Here's a 940-1 next to a 550 same blade length as 551 and a 484-1

thanks a lot

i have a question..when u slice through large cardboards...does 940 take as less an effort as griptilian?

griptilians thick beefy blade made long slicing strokes very easy

I never used that 940-1 but its s90v blade was sharp as hell. The grips go through cardboard easy.

940 slices pretty well, flat grinds slice better though.

i usually go for drop point blades but curious to see how 940-2 performs day to day...i noticed lot of my friends find griptilian to be very scary looking so thinking of trying maybe a small profile blade this time as i do live in city

its a really nice knife.. my 1501 has kicked everything out of my pocket as an edc. i like it so much i bought another...
