Happily welcomed this new addition today. Thanks to all who generously provided input while I shopped around for the right blade. I can wholeheartedly say that I made the right choice.

And to think, I was going to buy a Mini. ;)

Please excuse the 'yellowness' of the photos and the little bits of dust on the blade. I took these about five minutes after removing it from its box and was so eager to share these that I didn't take the time to do a full re-touch.

Pics. of my Persian soon to come.

EDIT:
Just realized I posted the same picture twice.

Very nice, those pirate clips are always a nice addition.:thumbup:

So, you went waveless.
Congrats on the addition to your addiction.
I'll bet you'll like your Persian even more...ask Haze!
Be sure to post pics...that way I won't have to let go of the mouse and reach for my pocket to admire my favorite Emerson.

I did.

After owning the Combat Karambit I instantly became enamored with the build quality of Emerson's and, well, you guys know; you're not posting here 'cause you got lost. I decided that I wanted to replace my EDC with a Waveless Emerson purely out of practicality. I'm currently in the sort of workplace where I may alarm a few members of the opposite gender by ceremoniously drawing a Waved Emerson every time I need to use my knife. So therefore, I decided I needed something a bit more tame.

If the proverbial $*%& hits the fan and I'm going to have to be stepping out into the world with self-defense in mind, the Karambit is what's coming with me.

Oh, and the Persian. :D

A Karambit in one hand and a Persian in the other...
I think you'll have the blade thing covered!
Enjoy.

Thanks!

And I do love the solid feel and look of a gutted, square weave. I may make one over the weekend when I have more time.

To me, The Emerson CQC7's are IT!
Nice knife there Hazie. ;)

No serial number. Does that make it sorta a non production run? I've never held a custom, they probably aren't numbered. I really don't know. Maybe I already know the answer?

very nice knife!

CQ7A Seems to be my favorite of all my Emerson's

Thanks all. I hadn't even noticed there was no serial number.

Awesome looking knife, that is exactly what I'm looking for. Slightly off topic, but where did you get a plain edged 7 without wave at? I can only seem to find half-serrated, or tanto with wave online? I appreciate the nudge in the right direction.

none of the customs i have ever seen have had a serial number, IIRC some have some dates/numbers marked on the outside of the liners & other places too, marked w/a sharpie, i dont think it means like when it was made or anything, i think ernie does runs of say X amount of liners, X amount of handles, X amount of blades for Y and Z models and he uses the numbers to keep it all straight during assembly, so i dont think they have any meaning once assembled, its not like he makes one complete knife at a time, he might be working on parts for several different models over time and then when all the parts are finished he does final assembly, so i have been told anyway.

i dont know if the new ones are still like it or not, to be honest i havent ever completely disassembled one of the customs so i am just going on heresay, but IIRC i have seen some pics of dissassembled customs with the markings, IIRC anyway lol.

but, none of mine have ever been serial numbered, dated, yes, but no serial #'s.
