Well the girlfriend and I went to a nearby park today to grill out some brats. We brought our hammocks to chill and read a bit, but there weren't any trees close enough to hang them. :thumbdn:

I brought all of my knives to do a little sharpening and ended up taking a few pictures. My collection has really thinned down lately. Here is what I've got:

The Clax is my newest addition, and it's AWESOME. This thing is enormous. I feel like a gladiator every time I take it out. I used it to chop up this mini watermelon we brought. I gave it an extremely halfhearted chop with only wrist and it went through the melon and bit DEEP into the table. I am almost scared to use it now that I know what it's capable of. By far the most beastly knife I've ever owned. It doesn't have the size or thickness of a big khukri, but it feels like a sword in the hand.

It makes my NWA forum knife look puny in comparison.

Anyway, that's what I've got at this point. I would like to pick up a BRKT Aurora and a RAT RC-5, but it will probably be a while before I drop any more coin.

Nice collection:cool: I gotta admit, I reaaally like that Clax:thumbup: I'm sure I'd hurt myself with it, but I'd be a grinnin' fool at the ER:p:D

Good stuff Snow, that Clax is beastly! Zombie tool for sure :D

Your scout looks well loved!

Awesome blades Brandon.

That Clax is too cool. I cant wait to check that thing out..

Glad you were able to get out a bit brother

Nice Smatchet!!!

Hey good for you for weaning down the herd like that!

Heh, actually believe it or not, the smatchet thread was my inspiration to get the Clax. I read that whole thread and laughed til I cried. Then I looked up the Clax and saw that they were getting cheap and decided to grab one.

The thing next to the Clax is by Walter Davis. It's just a machete/chopper type thing. It has a pretty awesome edge on it. I chopped up a bunch of nearly petrified wood with it last time I was out and the edge survived, and still feels pretty sharp. Now that I have the Clax, that one will be more light duty and save the heavy chopping for the Clax.

Jake: One benefit of the small collection is that I'll probably bring all of them next time we hang out, so you can cut down a door with the Clax if you want.

rksoon: I keep going back and forth on which would be my primary zombie knife between the Clax and Davis chopper. The Davis blade is much faster, but the Clax packs a punch...I'd probably just use one in each hand! :D

'Tis the most logical thing to do :D

Glad you saw the humour snow - I loved the smatchet thread too :D :D :D

So if you were going two handed, fast blade in one and power chopper in the other, which knife goes in your strong hand and which in your weak???? Just curious - 'cause I thought about it and can't come up with a decision....

Now if you were the zombie it would be an easier answer. You'd have the smatchet to lop off the top of the human head and the nesmuk, weak carry, to spoon out the brains :D (Sorry for the non-W&SS segway)

:rofl

Luckily they don't have the logic or the motor skills for that.

I'm thinking Davis chopper weak side for snap cuts and parries with Clax on the strong side for full-strength swings!

Sounds like I'll need to make you one with a guard-just in case the zombies figure out how to use weapons, too:p

I like the Clax, reminds me of a book I read a while back based in the medieval times  I wish I remembered what that book was.
