well i decided to go ahead and take that god awful coating of my tops tracker, here is what it looks like so far...

it takes forever due to the angles of the blade and of course my camera doesnt show it off properly but its looking good so far, im dreading taking the handle wrap off to do the whole thing properly but im pretty sure it will be drop dead gorgeous when im done.

What finish are you planning to use?

2000 grit final. it should be real shiny... for signaling planes... yeah thats it! now how long that finish will last with every other weekend use... probably not long, ill go back down to 1200 or so or whatever is practical. i just wanted to try this at the highest finish possible. Im thinking about getting some japanese finger stones to try those too

just keep in mind, this is something like 12 hours of finger cramping work. ouch. and im stillllll not done.
