New Benchmade limited editions
I've heard of a bunch:
705-02 (aluminum scales? )
773-01 (D2 and G10 ?)
733 (several models)

Does anyone have any pics of these?
Have they actually been seen, or are they just rumors? Someone here should know, right?

They're scheduled, but not out yet. You have a few months to wait to see some of those. I don't know if anyone has advance pictures of them or not, but I haven't seen any yet.

I plan on getting them all myself. :) So I'm looking forward to them also.

The models I really want are the 705-02, 710-02, 733-01 & 733-02. :)

.....

Re-reading your post, the 770-02 is out.

Very nice little knife. The G-10 is *very* grippy on this. IMO though, the regular 770 w/carbon fiber handles is easier to open if you use the thumbstud. Why? The carbon is smooth, so you move very easily to the stud, whereas the G-10 is grippy, making the small spot where the small stud is more difficult to find/get to. That's just me mind you. If you wave them open it won't matter either way. :)

Cool! Thanks for the pic!

Does that one have the "zipper"-type backspacer like the 770, or is it G10 all the way around, more like the 771?

But more importantly, where are they available?

It is a model 770, just with different handles & blade steel. So it has the zippered back.

From what i heard, there is a very hush-hush, VERY hard to find new Benchmade Ltd. Ed, what makes it so special is that supposedly, it has absolutely flawless fit and finish, no blade play, perfect lockup, centered blade, and they decided to call it....

Sebenza! :)

OK, i know, cheap shot, and i will say that while my opinion of BM quality in the past was pretty poor, having seen some extremely poorly made examples, i have definitely noticed an improvement in quality, and the last few i played around with had surprisingly good F&F, so, i may actually pick up a few, im glad, i like their designs, but could never accept the obvious flaws in the past. In the past, it seemed like if you wanted a BM, you had to accept blade play, well, not any more! :)

Thanks for the obligatory Sebenza-beats-everything-else post! :barf:

Does anyone else have any info (from the shows, for example) on the '03 Limited Edition plans?

Thanks!

I just picked up a couple of the BM 940D2CF knives yesterday...940 with D2 steel and carbon fiber handles!

It's absolutely gorgeous and boy did they come SHARP! :)

My 2 cents,

Matthew

You really cant go wrong with a benchmade. The G-10 looks like a great knife. I am personally very fond of the steel in benchmade knives.

Seems very dry, with lots of razor sharp biting carbides. Great to sharpen too. Love em.

Their lifesharp is also kind of neat, though i know i would never be able to part from a knife long enough to send it away in the mail!

I hear there is a secretive, elusive Sebenza that is built a little more ruggedly, and costs about one third the price of the original.

It's called an Al Mar SERE 2000!
