I've heard about it, but haven't seen what it looks like. Pics would be appreciated!

Very nice! I may have to get one for myself now! :D

I had to get a closer look :D :D

Probably, just don't drop it in the woods! Since they have to blast knives when they are refurbishing them I am sure it is an option.:D

Help please.

I just did a search and went back and read a couple threads. Had read them before, but without "listening," if you get my drift.

This Kalgard is described as paint. Is it a special paint? I mean does it add any valuable properties to the knife?

Think it would make me nervous to have such a finish. Would be afraid I'd drop it or set it down somewhere in a moment of excitement or something, and then not be able to see it. But, it sure does look good!

Well, appears my ignorance will remain complete.

I guess Kalgard is technically not a paint but it is a convenient term. It is a coating, described as a dry lubricant, developed among other things, for firearms - to lubricate the slide without "gooping it up" (how's that for a non-technical explanation!:))and to protect from oxidization

It is applied to a very clean, sandblasted surface with a low pressure touch-up spray gun. The knife (or whatever it is that you are coating) is then baked - conventional domestic oven, a bit like cookies! The Kalgard cures to form a tough, serviceable coating.

The camo treatment is really a bit of a whimsical diversion! There are people who like camo things, and Lisa (who does the Kalgarding) is pretty creative!

Are there color choices available? The patterns look cool, but maybe we could go beyond subdued colors.
