I was wanting to see some pictures of any forumites CQC-T hawks. Any pictures are greatly appreciated. I am placing my order and am trying to decide between the CQC-T or VTAC.

Here's my CQC-T and my VTAC.
Note that the CQC-T is the current production model without the upper grip rings on the haft.

I apologize for the dirty floor backdrop. I would have added a pic of my Sibert Commanche as well, but my son put it somewhere and I can't find it. Will post later........

Now Reconseed, buy yourself a VTAC and have some fun! To me, it seems like the logical choice for what you're looking for - a Jack-of-all-trades kinda hawk. :)

MikeA has a good point .. Start with the VTAC and have some fun !!

Well, at this point I dont have the funds to get them both at the same time. But THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH for the pictures!!! They are very nice and just what I was looking for!

Just a quick question, what makes the VTAC a "jack of all trades"? Would the CQC-T not fit that bill as well as the VTAC? The only problem I have with the VTAC is the pitting. I think it just looks terrible. The hawk is just as reliable I am told, I just hate the look of the pitting. Is it possible to get one with a smooth finish on it like that of the CQC-T? I think I remember Andy saying he can get me one but I am not sure on that.

Look brother, do you want a beauty pageant finalist, or are you looking for an effecient tool that will do what you ask it, without regards to what it looks like after the first plunging swing into a 55gal drum/car door/cinderblock/oak tree limb????? Once you've committed to use it, the looks won't matter any more.

Folks have been giving you sound advise for a long time......

Remember, if your life depends on it, function always before form. First and foremost - these are tools.

The "pitted" VTAC is better suited as an all-round user 'hawk. The CQC-T is an anti-personnel weapon of the highest caliber - same goes for the Commanche.

Let's put it this way - WTSHTF I'm grabbin what's in my A-Bag - either the VTAC or a K5 (when it arrives :) ).

Here are my modern hawks...
L to R: ATC Sibert Commanche, ATC/Emerson CQC-T, Hays Next Gen Spike, ATC VTAC Lagana. My K5 tactical spike is on order.

What a nice collection Mike!!!! That Comanche is just amazing. Do the screws in the handle ever come loose under heavy use?

It hasn't seen any use, so I can't answer that. I have it as merely an addition to my collection, and therefore, it probably will not see any useage. This hawk is like the CQC-T in that it's intended use is that of a defensive hawk, as opposed to a breaching / general purpose hawk (VTAC).

Jack, I know I have been buggin yall for months but I am very excited about getting one and wanna figure out the best one for me, which, after this thread, I think I am going to go with the VTAC.

But damn, that Comanche is just sexy. :)

.......and the water stilled........the clouds parted..........the sun shone forth............... :D

 My VTAC will be here soon enough. I am hoping that I can get Andy to ship it faster than the 6 weeks or so it takes, as stated on the website.

There are places, like where I got mine, that you can get it in 3-5 days and pay $99 plus shipping. Interested??? Email me.......

Not trying to slight Andy (afterall, he still gets his money), just trying to get you in touch with the hawk sooner.

Correct. ATC gets their cut and you get to fill your hand quicker. That's how I got mine. No need to deal directly unless you are having some customizations.
