Busse Combat has signed an agreement to manufacture an exclusive line of knives for the european marketplace. At this time there are no plans to sell or distribute these models in the U.S. These exciting new models feature clip point designs and satin finishes. Featured at the IWA show in Germany the Busse Combat European line has already proven VERY popular and initial orders have far exceeded even our most ambitious projections. We wish the best of luck to Dirk and Frank and extend our congratulations to them on the popularity of this new line.

Yours in nuclear exclusives,

Jerry Busse

Strabs and anyone else!

Like Jerry already wrote we had a tremendous success at the IWA:

Everbody wants the new Busses!

Since we have to satisfy the european market first I cannot promise you a delivery date. We scheduled delivery for mid-june this year.

Anyway, you are more than welcome to e-mail me to be put on our waiting list.

Dirk

Are you trying make me cry?

I always wondered how the BM clip point would look on an E model. Now I know. It looks friggin awesome!!!!!

Please, please, please, please, Jerry, make them international sellers!

I need them, I really do. The second one from the top looks the best. It really is the "hybrid" I have been hoping for! Don't abandon your countrymen (I'm from the US, although I used to live in the Philippines...)!! We need those knives Jerry! NEEED!

OK, my psychotic episode and spasms have subsided, so I'll ask some questions.

So, I noticed that the very top one and the one on the bottom have what look to be Respirene C handles, correct? Also, are these knives using INFI or M-INFI or some one, some the other?

Also, will blade coating be an option?

And bring some home with you from Germany...

I agree with Andrew that the second knife from the top looks the best. I want one!

I'll take one of each except the E model. Are they INFI or Modified INFI?

Some more questions: where are these knives manufactured? If they are made here, why are they so exclusive to europe? Also, it seems that you've taken some of what we liked in the old models (ex: BM's clip point) and E-ized them. Is that true? Also, what are the specs for these knives (especially the larger ones)? To me, the larger ones look to have about a 8.5" blade, but that's a guess. Please, Jerry, couldn't you offer these beauties internationally? Would it be so hard? Also, what will the prices be (in US dollars please...).

The second one up sure looks like my ideal Busse hunter. Gotta chime in here and say go international! Jerry, your knives are just getting too damn popular.

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.

Please advise details of how to purchase the second knife down. I tried to order on the German website but doubt I made a successful communication.
Thanks from,

These knives, like all Busses are made in the USA. Market research performed by our european distributors indicated that these models would fill the particular needs of their customers. Their research has proven to be right on the money.

As part of our agreement with them, we established how many knives could be manufactured on top of our regular production and the distribution of these models would be exclusive to them. Their first priority is to satiate the demand in Europe for these models and to be sure that all orders from the european marketplace are given top priority. Demand has far exceeded our expectations and at this time we will be hard pressed to fill the demand. If and when this demand is brought under control then perhaps Dirk will be able to make them available to the american market.

Jerry Busse

Awwww come on Jerry. You knew that you would get this kind of reaction when you posted the pictures. IT'S NOT FAIR! (Whine)

The European knives may not perform any better then the current models, but I think they are a lot more attractive.

that euromean street is really awesome!!!!....hopefully the european market will become quickly saturated and these will be available here in the USA in the not too distant future...like maybe in a year or two....lol...seriously, i want one now!.....feverdoc

Jerry,

What did you think was gonna happen when you showed us those pictures? Did you think we were gonna say "...ah, we don't want those." I for one don't get it. Not that I am jealous, but you dangle something like that in front of us and say it is exclusive for the European market. That is bull****. And I mean no disrespect to Busse Combat in Germany. In fact I am happy for them. But share the wealth.

Your in nuclear instigation.

Jerry,
It seemed to me that my whining about how I wished you'd bring back the BM clip point etc. was beginning to get futile. Busse Combat had designed their knives WHOLLY for performance, and that was it, no changing or modifying their current designs.

Then what happens???

Well, you take the BM clip point and put it back on an E model (two actually)like I had wished for, but there is a SMALL catch.

I can see them in all their beauty, but not get one for myself? It hurts, I'm telling you.

Well, could you atleast answer a few of my earlier questions if you're not too busy? If I can't own one, I may as well know the specs so I can pray for one.

To Greg:

You made a successfull communication. Don´t worry. I put you on our waiting list.

We have orders from dealers all over europe, hunting suppliers and special military units to fill in first.

Sorry, but now it´s our turn.

Dear WTF (aka Captain Instigator)and others who love those clip points,

We live in an amazing world of extensive and far reaching communications. The internet has shrunk the globe to the size of a keyboard. Our ability to have kept these new european models under our hat has been greatly diminished by the world wide web. Quite a few Bladeforum members visited our booth at the 2001 IWA Show in Germany and took pictures and specifications with them. It was certainly only a matter of days before this info would have been published, either by them or by our european distributors on their website. We thought it only fair to share with our forumites first.

There are many, many projects that are produced by Busse Combat that are not made public. Many of our employees are often not aware of what they are working on at times. Our ability to keep a lid on confidential projects is one of the reasons that we are awarded with so many of these "special runs".

There are those who know that our word is our bond, but we, likewise, have no fear in putting our word in writing. So, when we arrived at an agreement with our european distributors for exclusive rights, there were certain criteria that needed to be satisfied. That being said, I have no doubt that these models will find their way into the american marketplace, either by direct sale or through some of our european dealers.

So, in closing, I apologize if the publication of these new models has caused you any undo grief and am sure that the simple act of buying me a beer might actually satisfy that burning need to spend some of your money on a Busse. . . . Hey, I'm a Busse. . . What? Why is that confusing?

Yours in nuclear thirst,

Jerry Busse
