The pics from my Ipad are to large to use on your sight. Do you know how I can make the file size smaller and still upload directly to your website?

Have you tried using a 3rd party image hosting site like Flickr or Imgur? I use Flickr and it lets me choose the image size that I post here on Bladeforums

Do a screen capture of your image (with the black borders surrounding your image) by pressing the Home button and the power button on the upper right top of your iPad. Go to the new image and Edit the image by cropping out the excess black borders (the icon between the trashcan and the word Details). On Blade Forums, press Upload an Image under your post box. Look into your Photo Library -> Camera Roll. Select new image you just cropped. It will upload to BF. After it has uploaded select the button Full Image in BF under your post text for it to display in our post as a large image.

You now have a lower resolution image in less than a minute without any 3rd party software or image hosting sites.

Your welcome,

I'm not working off an iPad but rather a MacBook Pro. My preferred method is to bring my photos (whether from my camera, my wife's iPad or something pulled off the web) 1st to my desk top - 2nd to Photoshop Elements where I can crop, color correct etc. and resize. My usual target size is 120 pixels per inch and a 6" wide image +/-. This is saved "for the web" and then sent back to my desk top. From there I simply drag into my BF post. Select "full image" et voila - I have posted a photo. I then save these BF images in one folder and can reuse them as needed.

NOW - the one below was NOT DONE THIS WAY. In this case I used iPhoto as the editing tool. With iPhoto I don't have anywhere near as much control of the photo edit AND I can't really know exactly what the image size is that I am saving. Someone who knows how to use iPhoto might choose to chime in here please . You can see nonetheless that I was able to upload this image. I only cropped it in iPhoto, saved and then just dragged to my desk top. From there I dragged to this post.

I prefer Elements because I know what size I end up with and I can manage the photo quality better but the - direct from iPhoto - seems to have worked fine.

One other way to handle it.

That's complicated. I just upload to imgur and let them resize.
