In an attempt NOT to spend any money this last week before Blade, I tried to stay OFF the forums and in the garage --- ruining a perfectly good piece of leather  . Here's what I have to show for it -- not as pretty as the professionals, but somewhat satisfying knowing they came from my own shaky hands...

I also got a dangler done for a buddy's RD7, but failed to get a pic. It was fun, but now I'm sore fingered and ready for BLADE

-- not as pretty as the professionals,

I think you are going to be your toughest critic. Those sheaths look awfully nice. I especially like the middle one. Great lines, clean stitching, beautiful color--well done. For what it's worth, I would pay for a sheath like that.

Nice! :D I like being able to see all the layers in that BMe sheath, shows how much work is in it.

keep it up! :)

Looks very good to me. I need to get a hobby to keep me off these boards too!!

Gad - I seem to always want more!!:D

Nice job , i do alot of line splicing for customers . i know what sore fingers feel like esp when when i slice em . again nice work .

Thanks guys. Seriously, even with the cost of the supplies, I think it saves me loads of money when I STAY AWAY from the company store and the Exchange!!!

I was going to edge-coat it, but it just looked right this way... This is one UGLY knife (not her fault, she's been through a lot!) -- can't have a sheath that's too pretty ;)

Looks good to me. Are you taking orders yet?

LOL. Dwayne's my go-to professional. I have many of his sheaths and believe me, there is NO comparison! These are staged photos to show the "best side." I'm still in line for some Armoralleather artwork --- at least i hope I am! Dwayne, I AM still in line aren't I??? :D

Cool! You finished three sheaths in ONE weekend!? Nice, and fast!

I've also been working on a sheath. I could not find a model for a crash rat sheath so I designed my own. I have a picture of the sheath unfinished. I will post the finished product as soon as I can. Stitching is not yet finished as my awl broke.
Xaman: my stuff is not yet as good as yours but I will keep trying

I like it! Are you going to be able to wear it, or is it a head cover for while in the bag?

I know what you mean about the awl -- went through 2 myself before I saw the drill press technique. Are you using a press to pre-drill the holes, or are you "punching through" with the awl?

I'm wetting the leather and punching through with the awl. It's really difficult with three layers of 9oz. leather. I'm gonna wear it on a belt by attaching a malice clip to the back strap. Here's a pic of the back. If I had one I'd use a drill press.

mfaster, those stitches -- especially the ones on the blade side, are amazingly straight -- for a press even, but incredibly straight for an awl.

I tried one w/o a press, but that one will never be shown in a photo on the internet!!! It was SO bad...

good work

No doubt! I am still working on three right now and they are slow going. I am a notorious nit picker though. I made a sheath for one of Skunk's Anorexic Badgers and threw two out before he got one I was happy with. I wish I had more time to work on them.

Looks like you are coming along nicely though.

Thanks man
I really appreciate that. You've made my day.
