I still have a lot to learn, especially concerning lighting, but these are a far sight better than what I was able to do with my old camera.

What camera did you get? Are you open to C and C?

That all depends on what a C and C is.

Here is the best pic I have taken so far. The camera setting was on Manual, aperture F8, shutter speed 1/8 sec. You can even see the very light rubbing at the tip of the blade from the sheath.

Ken Lunde is bordering on artistry. Do a search on this forum. Check out his lighting, composition and exposure. A standard to judge all others by.

I too have recently got a new camera, amazingly the most pictures I have taken is of knives.

Great hobby. I am going to purchase a Ca%$# 40d next week. Been saving for awhile. But I keep blowing my savings on Busse Combat knives.

Go figure.

This is taken with my point and shoot C-non G9. On manual, macro, I forgot the rest of the settings. I'm learning. It is fun and addicting shooting pic's of knives.

I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. The Canon G9 was in the running for quite a while, but my brother has a FZ50 and I was able to use his for a while, and I borrowed a friend's G9. I have large hands and the Panasonic is much easier for me to use, hold, operate than the G9. The G9 is a great camera, but I opted for the Panasonic because it is the larger body, and therefore easier for me to work with.
