I really liked Pict's recent explanation (thread) of how he uses a tire inner-tube section to hold the kit pieces to the sheath. I took one of my small neckers and made a version of that set-up. Mine contains a small flashlight, oriented as Pict suggested, so that you simply push down on the inner tube and the light shines out from under the knife side of the tube (see pic), BSA fire-starter, and a PJ cotton ball. The whole set-up weighs about 2.75 ounces. Has anyone else tried this?
