I've heard people refer to the 710 as "bigger then the dimensions suggest".

Tried looking but can't find a picture of someone holding one so i can get the gist of what the above statement means.

Can anyone post a picture (as well as describing if you're a 6'7" guy with giant hands or a regular sized dude).

Perfect...thanks....it does look a little bigger then I'd like for EDC...hmm

I like the 3.25-3.75 range

Benchmade Griptilian or, better yet, the Doug Ritter Benchmade Griptilian

:) Just bought a Ritter Grip yesterday.

I'm trying to build up a nice 3-4 knife rotation for EDC. (manix is next on the list)

A 720 has the right length but i don't like the blade design and the 707 is a bit too small for my likings.

Ritter Grip, on my top 5 list. You'll also love the Manix. I sometimes find it a "pocket full" so had a custom made "friction" sheath made for it (and my BM Ruckus) to provide a different carry options. Just an idea. Sounds like you have a good start.

Don't think the manix is up his alley, if he thinks the 710 might be too big. Just got mine yesterday. Even though I read up on it before my purchase, I was surprised by it's ginormousness!

A BM710 type handle with a Doug Ritter blade is what I want.

Yeah same here, if you look in the "RSK vs. Manix vs. 710" thread I made my main three knife attributes i wanted before i started looking was a "leaf" style flat ground blade, G10 and Axis lock. Couldn't find the right knife that had all three.

Holy Crap that picture is an eyeopener....maybe it'll be a mini-manix for me. On the plus side it does look more utilitarian to the average person and less likely to freak out the secretary cause she thinks i'm gonna start slitting people throats commando style which is the impression that the 710 gives off IMO (not that i don't think it's a beauty).

As for the 730, I'm not too much of a spearpoint fan. i find myself liking droppoint and modified sheepsfoot bladed knives

The 710 fits my hand perfectly, and as soon as I removed the clip, it fit my pocket perfectly. It's been my EDC since the day I received it!:)

I find that the 710 handle doesn't fit me perfectly in any particular grip, but it is neutral enough that it is comfortable in many grips. Compare it to the Manix: The Manix handle grooves, and front and rear ramps may make it perfect in forward grips, but are a detriment to reverse/ice pick grips. The 710 has a smaller width, and the lack of blade hump makes for easier peeling, and other delicate work. It really is a jack of all trades.

full metal liners and G10 scales would be nice on the Ritter Grip. it'd be like a Manix with an axis lock.
