Picture posting sizes

Hi Guys,

I've seen pics posted ranging from thumbnails to fairly large pics. Is there a range of sizes we can use on this site to post pics, and if so, what size should I use to get a nice picture?

I use Photobucket and use their default size. Its big enough to fill a large monitor. Heres one:
