Picture Request; ZT 0551 & Benchmade MPR.

Hey,

I am really hoping that someone out there has a picture of the new ZT folder with the Benchmade MPR (755)? I would love to see these two little beasts together!
Hopefully frame lock side on, and scale side on.

If you could throw and Umnumzaan in there to I would be extra grateful!!! :D

Ooh, I hope someone comes through with the pics (and they nearly always do here on BF!). I've had my eye on the MPR but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm worried it'll be a bit too small for my hands. Seeing it next to a couple of knives that fit my hand well (0551 and Umnumzaan) should help with my decision.
 
I have an MPR and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I had no idea how much I would like this knife but I really, really do. It is small yet stout and built like a tank.
As for size, I have fairly large hands (I am 6'5") and it fits my hand really well. I am thinking about a 055X and just want to see them side by side to see if the MPR is all the knife I will need in that size.

I have an MPR and I'm waiting for my 0551 to arrive. The minute it comes in I'll take pics.
 
I haven't gotten to handle either of them, sadly, and I really like both from what I've seen, but I think the MPR is just fascinating. It's for a REALLY underserved niche crowd, the hard use small folder segment. I don't think the segment itself even knew it existed until the MPR was made.

I can make the exact same statement except I am 6'4". Love my MPR, great knife!

Thanks, guys! That's very encouraging re: whether the MPR would fit my hands. Guess I know what my next knife purchase is going to be!

Haha...the members of BF certainly know how to fan the flames. I already said the MPR would be my next knife purchase -- what more do you people want?!?! :grumpy:

I keep thinking about buying the 755, but I'm always just slightly pulled more towards the 0550/1

I owned a 755 and I sold it. Just too thick for how short it was, I didn't like the extremely tight tension on the pocket clip, and the edge was crazy obtuse. It was sharp, but I would have had to reprofile that M390 edge to get it where I wanted it to be and I wasn't going to put in that kind of time on a knife I knew I wasn't going to carry. Yeah, it had to go.

On the other hand I have my ZT0551 and I can't really compare the two. The handle is much more comfortable on the ZT0551, the clip can be oriented for tip or tip down, the edge was so much better out of the box than the 755, and I think that the 755 is even thicker in the handle than the ZT0551 (this is just from memory, but I'm not 100% sure).

If someone laid both out on a table and told me to choose one I would grab the ZT hands down.
 
yeah, that's sort of the impression I get from 055x. I haven't handled either yet. But the idea of a 3 inch blade ti framelock/g10 is pretty appealing to me.
 
I'm resurrecting this thread now that it's had some time for these knives to make into more people's hands...any comparison shots of these two?
