(edited: Hmmm, I guess you can't post direct img using yahoo photos.. so click on the links.)

A few weekends ago, I went to my friend's house in the great Canadian wilderness, and we chopped up some stuff.

Here's a few pictures of me slicing up a water filled can with my Khuk.
An 18" AK.. by Kumar IIRC.

End of the session

If you look closely at the start and end sessions, you can see very large oil tankers waiting in queue to be offloaded. We were right by an Irving oil refinery.

Additionally, you may peruse http://photos.yahoo.com/silverlight42/

For full pictures. Most are not khuks, but a PC Katana that I own, and my friend's CS Chinese sabre. We were just messing around, slicing through 2L pop bottles mostly. The first time i've practiced actual live cuts like that.

We also went out and took a couple of Khuks in the woods, clearing a bit of a path in my friend's backyard... and gave it a decent workout/test. It cuts well! Though I did manage to hit a rock, while testing it on some ice.. and smooshed-up the soft point :grumpy: Nothing serious as I was able to fix it up with 30min work on a stone.

Pictures are credited to my friend and photographer Keith Gale. Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel., in case anyone is interested.

Nice, very nice! Looked like fun....but I'd rather wait until it's 100 outside to play in the water:cool:

BTW, whats w/ the thermite?? :D

We tried lighting some... but it did not light. Not sure if I got the mix right, or if the winds were simply too much (about 30mi/h), and too cold...
Could be we didn't have something hot enough to light it with too, or any combination thereof.

It was a blast, for sure! I hope to do it again sometime with more difficult/interesting targets.

as i recall, you have to light thermite with magnesium, wich lights at a lower temperature.... so i was told by the jolly roger... i could definitely be wrong about that though...

You remember correctly. I also heard 'sparklers' work too - since I believe these contain a good amount of magnesium. We used both and a combination thereof.
