Got a new PC recently so I decided it was time to pull out a few of the SOG Hunter Revolver "older" pics we took several years ago during some testing and never posted them.
I hope you all don't mind looking at these...........And a special thanks to BF "Esav Benyamin" the MidniteSuperMod..............

These were actual cutting test or exercises I was doing on the revolver saw etc.

The samples we were cutting in these shots were dead cedar. This was some fun stuff..........:D

The double cut saw on these knives works really well, some of the shots shows just how big a log it will cut, and I have cut bigger trees than this and used the weight of the tree to take them on down to the ground.

I think this is saying a lot for a knife/saw that weighs just 8 or 9 ounces.

Also notice in a few pics you can actually see my name engraved in the saw blade since this was an earlier model Revolver.

Let the pics speak for themselves........

Awesome pics guys!

How often do we see the inventor themselves in action! :D

Nice to know the Revolver handles batoning well. IMO this is one of the best collaborations SOG has ever done!

And a special thanks to Esav Benyamin, the MidniteSuperMod.............he told me how to post those pics.

Hey Robbie

The SOG revovler has always interested me...How does it saw? Does it bind and jam?

And thats some pet you got there. Do you keep him at home? Ive got an albino ferret myself, and its clear to see theyre distant cousins :D

About time! :D

Let's get a few more shots -- who's got the new versions?

Whats different on the new ones?

PropThePolecat, the saw cuts very easy. The trick is to let it cut at it's own pace since it's double cut and the teeth are like needles. I have rarely had my saw bind but it will if I don't make smooth even cuts.

And most important like all saws a person needs to try to control the tree or limb they are cutting to lesson the weight and binding pressure of the wood being cut. We all know if the limb or tree pushes down on the blade we are going to have problems moving the saw.

The older original models were finished out a little smoother.........the brushed finish seemed a bit smoother other than that I can honestly say they seem to be as good as the older ones and a whole lot cheaper.

I can tell you they are VERY useful knives or survival tools and work perfectly IMO. Most who use them are amazed at how simple the design is but yet so versatile in it's uses.

Mr. Pale face lives in a 10 acre area around my house and seems to be doing well even though I have not seen him for a few weeks I know he is not far. There is too much food and good shelter for him to go far. From the first night I saw him he did not fear me which is not good but his color actually helps protect him I think because hunters would think he was a white cat........he shows me his teeth often but has never offered to bite but I don't take any chances.

I have had a Seal Revolver since 2003 and recently got a Hunter Revolver. The main differences that I've noticed are in the handles. The old handles texturing was very rounded and smooth, where as the new one is agresize and grippier. The pin that holds the blade in place has also changed. The old one was a round with a flat face, the new one is round with a rounded face. Saw and blades work great on either one. I think the Molds for the new handles are better then the old molds because the lines are more crisp.

When I'm out hiking or camping, the Seal Revolver comes along, where as the Hunter sees more time in the Kitchen. First part of April my mom had a neighbor and I come over to trim some trees. My Seal Revolver helped out by slicing and sawing smaller branches.

Albino coon............

Wow, I feel stupid now (not a totally new sensation for me). I thought it was a very nice looking possum.
Didn't realize an albino coon looked so different from the normal ones.

Robbie, you went GOLD! Nice color on you.

SOG DOG 2

Allan45, yes I did.

Been meaning to for years.........starting to slow down a bit and post some pics I've taken over the years and new ones to come, so I figured it would be nice to pay my dues first.
