It was another great show at the Charlotte Metrolina today and a great lunch at Bubba's BBQ. We really missed Artsig and our thoughts and prayers are with Art, his son and his son's friend.

A nice after lunch treat was an appearance by Walter Brend carrying a new #2 and a #7. Walter mentioned some new production collaborations that are really going to be something special. I can't wait until Walter and Tom get these out to the world.

Here are a few pics of the cutlery at Bubba's:

Yeah - I know - off by a year. I think I'll blame the typo on the bifocals again

It's not the glasses, it's the old age

LOL! Thanks for posting pics, Mark! We sure did have a blast today - food, fun, good friends, and sharp stuff of all shapes and sizes. In other words, just another deliberate and blatant public display of dangerously sharp, pointy things by those who should know better

Plus, the excellent weather today made for a perfect excuse for a road trip

Any newbies and oldbies who missed this time, the Knuts will convene again for the next Charlotte show on 3/10.

Great cutlery pics.

But not one word about the BBQ?

Come on fellas, how was the feast?

Brandon,

The BBQ was a very good smoked and chipped (I think "chipped" is the correct term) pork in the Eastern North Carolina style. They generally use a vinegar based hot sauce on it. Down where I come from (lowcountry of SC), we call it "Yankee BBQ"
wink.gif
. Ours is about the same except that we drown it in a sweet mustard based sauce. Based on previous experience with some of the NC Knife Knuts visiting at the Columbia, SC shows, they're not overly fond of our sweet mustard sauce

Darrel - a little bit of both!

You might notice that with the exception of Dexter, the rest of us rarely miss any meals.

Those knives on the table probably represented about 30% of what was actually there. I know that my case, David's case, and Dexter's wheel around blade suitcase were still mostly full. Its just hard to find room to eat with all of them on the table

The most priceless picture never got taken! It was the look on Kelly's(senators) face when the waitress filled up a coffee cup over $5,000-10,000 worth of his knives! Obviously, she had no clue as to what was on the table

It is interesting that among those present, we had 1 Madd Maxx, 2 people who had one on order and 2 who were considering ordering one. We like our knives like our women in NC, oversized and quick to open up

We had more fun than our government would like to allow without being taxed!

Oh yeah! Come to papa

The Madd Maxx will soon become the official knife of the Knuts....maybe we can talk ol' DDR into giving us a bulk discount? LOL

I don't need to buy a Madd Maxx now - I can blackmail David out of his

Hehe. I've been talking to DDR about that there knife. I'm thinking that I may get one this summer, after I recover from buying a pair of LCC's (c'mon, you gotta get two, so they can keep each other company
biggrin.gif
). Seems like the perfect example of a really huge folding knife. I mean, it's almost 6", closed!

That's great news, Art! Thanks for keeping us informed. Hope to see you next month at the same show. I'll email you later on as time gets closer.

Art,

I wish to offer my belated codolences, I'm glad things are shaping up for everyone involved.

FYI, you may want to re-think some of your previous posts on this subject. I won't go into details, but I think it would be a GOOD idea.

Take care,
Chris
