Does anyone have pictures from the recent Milan Show?
A report to go with them would be nice too.....

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I had planned to make a report and pictures but on Friday on the way to Milan we got snowed in and almost stranded in the Alps. It took us 6 hours to cover the last 200km. Because of this bad weather we had to cut our visit to the show very short (1,5 hours). In that time I only had the opportunity to pick up my knives from various makers. I very quickly walked the floor and shook hands with a couple of makers. Arpad Bojtos had a lovely couple of knives and Virgil England had an amazing set of fighters with him. That's all I can tell unfortunately:grumpy:

We left Milan at 10.30 AM on Saturday and arrived home on Sunday at 15.30 PM. I had to make a detour of about 700 km just to get home again:mad:

That was quite a trip, Marcel!
Good thing you got home safely.... :)

Would you like to show us the knives you brought back with you?

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

David, two of the three knives I picked up I already showed here, the Slobodian Persian Fighter and the Josh Smith Dogbone Bowie. The third knife I received in Milan was a project two years in the making...... a Rick Eaton Dogbone Bowie. Because of the time pressure there are no decent photos of that one yet (only my crappy pictures). I'm working on that though, so by the end of the year I can show that one to the rest of the world too.

With such knives in your bag no wonder you did not risk flying
and took the looooooong way to Milan and back home....

I am glad that you managed to get home safely!! I am sorry your trip was so difficult Marcel.

Murray has spoiled us with his amazing show coverage.

Glad you got home safe Marcel. Well worth the trip considering the three beauties you picked up.

A number of knives flew back to America. Let me just say, I've been VERY busy.

Fogarizzu/Torcoli x2
Bennica x2

Tschager
Kressler
Emmanual Esposito x3 ( )

Well, thanks to you Coop, at least we shall get a peek at some
knives from the top European knifemakers.

Emmanual Esposito, to single out one from the above list of
established world-class knifemakers, is an amazing young Italian
knifemaker, making it more than well worth waiting for your
pictures.....

What, no one went with a camera? Very disappointing.

Keith, I had a digital camera with me and had planned to stay all day and make as much pictures as possible. I'm no Murray ;)but would have tried to make a report. All this went into the toilet given my aforementioned problems.

Coop, I'm glad you will be able to show us some knives of these incredible makers.

While waiting for Coop's display, I thought that I could enliven
this thread with a taste of three Emmanuel Esposito (Italy)
snakewood Integrals, made in 2006.

From the collection of Dr. Pierluigi Peroni (Italy).

All the best,

I understand Marcel, but you would think that other members of this forum that were present at the Milan show would have taken photos.

Here are some that I am sure came from this show.

Charles Bennica's are ALWAYS enjoyable:

Emmanuel Esposito (With some help on this one from Bennica, I see)

We talked about screw alignment in another thread. Some said it didn't matter. Really?

OK, if you have entered this thread and are viewing this, you are about to witness the most incredible female engraver and set of engravings that I have encountered.

Mindblowing.

Taken as a group, That's pretty much the "A Team".. What beautiful folders, shown expertly too... Best, Rich

Wow!

Does anyone know if the steel on the Bennica is Owen Woods or just a similar pattern?
