Well here it is,Stock removal 3 3/4 inch blade steel guard and whitetail handle... :D He did it his way,he didn't do to bad in my opinion

Now he has started grinding on the first forged blade.

Oh yeah--- great effort for a first blade...is it true it started out life as a Bowie!:D

Kiddin very good for the first time out, my first is still buried in a box in the shop somewhere...never to see the light of day!
 
Looking Good. :) Did he do the heat treating also? Did he find out fitting the guard and handle is harder than doing the whole blade? LOL :D

real good for a first timer i wish my first looked that good but then again i didnt have a knife maker to teach me i am self tought and still learning as i go

Yep he did it all by himself.Got flustrated with the old man more than once before it was finished,but we made it through :D
Donna said it sounded like the guys from OCC Choppers in the shop last weekend :D :eek: :D ,Hey maybe we can get a show ;)

The knife looks pretty good for a first. Donna is looking excellent.

Good luck with the new show. It would be entertaining and more interesting than choppers.
 
Matt just had to have Donna model for his first knife (To make his friends jelous I think :D )

He did get his forged blade ground and heat treated this weekend,Did it my way this time,got good flats to.He likes playing in the forge.

Gosh golly wow. I love the 2nd shot where Donna is showing us how the tang pins, and tummy pins, all line up. You did a great job on this knife Matt, I know Donna and your Dad are proud. I agree with Dan, that lady just doesn't age! Gosh golly wow.
 
Dan,No I didn't quit feeding her.She has cut out drinking cokes and just drinking water.I keep telling her she doesn't need to loose anymore weight,but you know Donna.She still thinks she is fat and now looking old :rolleyes:

Today was her Birthday by the way.I don't think she ages either.Now me that is a different story,I just keep getting fatter and uglier by the day :D

matt is very proud of the first knife,he finished the sheath and carries it on his hip.Donna told him that his sister could model his knives and she will model mine.We will see how that works.

haha I got up to 225 :eek: so I stopped drinking the coke too about 2 weeks ago :D happy B Day Donna :)
 
with a navel like that, I'd look at a butter knife and think it was purdy.... :)



Oh good Lord... re-reading the posts I find she's a Cancer to boot?...
