Gentlemen

These are some pictures of my favourite knife, the Cold steel Trailmaster in San Mai steel.
Not the most expensive knife I own but I like the way it feels in my hand and the details com pared to the price are great.

you are seeing the lamination of the two steels.

Looks nice. Great pictures. You're making me want one.

I have a Kershaw Nakamura with 420J laminated over VG-10. The line between the two steels, much like the Trailmaster has, does remind me a *little* bit of a hamon.

J85909266 - San Mai is what Cold Steel calls its 3 layer stainless steel laminate.

I believe it is Vassali(?), the California gentleman from I believe the Soviet Union, who is probably the knowledge person on laminated steels on the forum. Well, he writes knowledgeably anyway.

It is AUS 8 (clad with 420, I believe). Not terrible, but not spectacular.
