Awesome pics.

I humbly request (and I have in the other Manix 2 pic threads as well as in some youtube videos of the knife...to no avail) a close up picture of the tip of the knife. I want to see how robust (or not) the tip is, because tip strength is important to me. EDIT: A shot of the tip from the spine is what I'm looking for.

I'll post one tomorrow. I put everything away now but have my camera with me at my desk at work but I would think the last three pictures will give you an idea . . .

From the pix above, it looks to be about 1/8" thick 3/8" back. If you use it for a crowbar it will snap about halfway between the tip and the end of the main grind.

I was going to suggest that two of the last three shows the tip geometry pretty good . . . I suggest you're right.

No, not going to use it as a crowbar, but I do stab things opening up plastics and such. Let's say I've seen a bad experience even with a tanto tipped 154cm blade that had the tip round off when piercing one of those sealed plastic cases that too many things come on these days. Tanto tips are meant for piercing, and this one wasn't a fluke (was a BM). This is why I asked to see a better shot, a close up, of the tip from the spine.

Great pic's!
Received mine friday, what a great knife.
I wasn't sure when I ordered it, if I would carry it, or it would become a Queen.
It's most definitely a user, must order another for back up. :D

For piercing, less is more. A thicker blade has to move material farther to make room for the blade. A shorter grind(larger included angle) has to move material aside faster, which requires more force. Tanto tips tend to be rather poor for piercing compared to simple spearpoints, drop points or clip points. The hype about the "armor-piercing tanto point" is just that - hype. Years ago, I snapped almost a quarter inch off the tip of a Cold Steel Tanto jabbing it into 5/16" sheetrock, a job I've done with the small blade of a Victorinox SwissChamp a hundred times.

I'm starting a separate post with some Manix 2 blade thickness profiles in a minute. Pictures are uploading now.

I will also take some side by side pictures of the old small and large Manixes next to the Manix 2 tonight when I get home from work.

I'm carrying the Manix 2 now (at work) so I was able to takes these blade shots now (next to a Mini Grip because it was in my BOB)
