Hello All

I have been fortunate enough to pick up a Large Walnut Burl. This can show the difference between the Limited Edition Wood Inlays and the Standard Wood Inlays model. As it is a Regular model, too, it can show the differences between it and the Classic. (The Classic Standard Wood Inlay is on my other thread "Pictures of my new Sebenzas")

Cards on the table, I prefer the classic :D

I have found darker wood harder to photograph :( But here goes. They are big pics, so I have done them as clickable thumbnails;

Whooo! Great pictures again, and b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l knives Roefisher! Say, aren't you my long lost cousin five times removed on my mother's uncle's grandfather's mistress' side? After all these years, a Sebenza would sure make a nice "Welcome Home" gift :D

Details, please! I'm going through a similar decision myself, although it is for the small and not the large...

Thanks for the compliments, Starfish :)

But, we would need to be closer than that to share one of these beauties :D :D

I like the classic because it seems to fit my hand better and has smoother lines, that's all. Although, the extra grooves on the Regular gives fantastic grip. Regular also had a much larger circular handle cut out that the Classic. Finally, there is a difference in the blade shapes. The Classic has a smooth drop across the full length of the blade top, whereas the Regular has two different angles. The Classic also has a shallower rise along the cutting edge to the tip, whereas the Regular has a sharper rise (more of a belly).

Like everything it's about personal taste. Some people on here like one and some the other. The good thing is, all three of mine are the exact same finish and fit. It's uncanny

All are simply superb, I will carry nothing else, from now on in

You just can't stop now, can you Mark? ;) Another beautiful knife, although I prefer Classics over Regular models, too. I don't know why, but Classics just feel better and more natural in my hand. They are also easier to open for some reason. The round cut-out of a Classic helps "lock" the knife in my hand (can't find a better way to describe it). I'm actually thinking about trading my Regular in for another Classic model.

Thanks Alex :)

Although I do carry my Sebenza (The classic with dbl silver lugs) I must admit that this wood thing is getting the better of me :( :D

I LOVE LOVE LOVE nice wood, so far i've got the Snakewood and Walnut. I have a Box Elder Mnandi in the post.

As for the classic, oh yes.......classic every time ! The lines are more flowing and the blade seems slicker without the angle change. I'll definately stay with using classics, for now ;)

Oh yes, the blade. I definitely agree - a classic blade looks much better IMO.

Make sure you post a group shot of all your new CRKs when you get them all. :)

Will do, Alex. I'll have the Mnandi, all being well, by early next week. I'll post some pictures of the full show, then.

Have you decided on another classic model, yet :)

Not yet... I know I still *need* a Cocobolo model, but other than that, I guess I'm just waiting for something to grab my attention. It will most definitely be a Classic Wood, maybe even something with Damascus blade. I also have a couple of customs on order as we speak (a matching fixed blade and a folder pair), so I'm not really in a hurry to spend much money right now. :)

Beautiful knife. The limited editions are my favorite CRK sebenzas when it comes to how they feel in the hand.
