Here are some pictures of the X-42 Field Knife for the folks who haven't seen one of these beauties up close. The first picture is the X-42 Field Knife and sheath. There was also a leather lanyard in the package but I left it out of the pictures for artistic reasons :D. The second picture shows the X-42 with a SERE 2000 for a size reference. If you would like the full-sized originals of these pictures just drop me an email. If there are any details or other angles you want to see, just ask.

The dark areas on the blade turned out to be just a little oil that was quite invisible in normal light but the camera picked it up. Doh!

I wondered about the size of the SERE, now I know, since I have a Field knife too!!!
I agree about the sheath.

Dang, I think I'm going to have to start saving up my lunch money to buy me one of those X-42 Field Knives...It looks like another excellent SOG production!.:).

Nice knife. Now I want one! You guys in the states are lucky. I bought a X42 recondo about a week ago here in Australia and it cost me $225 which is a good price. I bought a desert dagger this week for $250. Now I must save up for the X42 field knife...oh no my wife will kill me:)
 
Thanks for the Email Ron. Don't know whats up with the Hotmail thing. Anyway I got the one on my ISP account. I must work out the dollar conversion, ours is not so good as it used to be running at 53 cents to the USD. The one thing that makes a great knife better is the obvious great service. Thanks again.
