Pictures show up as links only - not the actual picture

Recently I learned how to post pics on this forum using Photobucket. And it was going pretty well. Now though whenever I try to do that all that shows up in the thread is a blue link to the picture and not the actual picture. If I click on my own picture link I get the pic but it's in the whole Photobucket thing. And I don't know if others can even do that - thinking Photobucket is recognizing my computer and showing the picture but might not do that for someone else.

The real question though is WHY are my pics not showing up like they used to? I do have a slow internet connection and the computer is not real fast either. Don't know if that has anything to do with the problem.

Thanks

Steve

You need to post the fourth link from Photobucket, the one at the bottom of the stack under the picture. It will have [ img ] tags around it.

yep, that one

Interesting. I've actually been clicking the 2nd option ('Direct link') with photobucket, which copies the URL, then pasting that into the 'From URL' box in the 'Insert Image' dialog. I haven't had any issues posting pics. Guess I'll have to tinker some more, to see if something's changed. As with so many other issues, it seems, maybe it's a difference in how certain browsers handle/recognize these linked URLs (I'm using Firefox).

Edited for pic test (posted as described above):

nothing changed, the fourth option just adds the
around the link, while the second one just sends the link, and in this case the
part is added by the 'from URL' option, or 'insert image' option.
so by using the fourth option, you can just paste the code here, instead of using the 'insert image' button from the forum, for each image.

That's good to know, thanks. The 'Insert Image' dialog is a bit slow & quirky anyway, so bypassing it will make things that much easier.
