Piece of cable damascus... what to do, what to do?

I have a nice piece of Kim Breed's cable damascus. He is planning on selling this stuff to non-forgers so you can still use it without having to make it. Don't know if he's going forward with that or not, but what style of knife is appropriate for cable? Is a tanto too wrong? Looking for ideas and inspiration...

Anything with a point on one end and a handle on the other end will work.Let your imagination run free.

I can always cut out a blank for you.HAHAHAHA. a KRIS STYLE BLADE WOULD look excellent and its easy with a half bastard file. Handling is hard. Do a dagger blade. Tantos are good if done in the old style. If you can't decide hit my web site for more ideas. I love the stuff. :D

How about a nice Bowie or Fighter? Or a pen? Well that is what I have made out of cable anyway. ;)

The sky is the limit.

Inspiration just hit. You're all wrong. Although, we'll see. I tend to start removing metal and when the steel decides I'm done, I stop. Sometimes what I conceptualize in my mind before starting and what ends up being there when I stop are totally unrelated. Anyway, though, I was just struck with inspiration (either that or a mini-stroke), so I think I've got it covered now. Hopefully Kim welded this stuff up right and it won't fall apart on my when I start grinding! :D Talk about biting the hand that feeds you, right, Kim! Ha! ;)

Chiro, very funny. Finish that one and I will get you some more. Maybe a Katana next time. That will keep you a fileing.

Kim, where you been, man? I got a big boy grinder two weeks ago (Coote, so not a REALLY big boy, but big enough to do some serious steel damage). No more files for me (well, less filing for me, at least). It was really nice to make a knife start to finish last weekend, even if it was only 4" long overall. If you have cable steel big enough for katana blades, send it to Da'qo'tah. That guy can grind a sword blade in about 10 minutes. Just send it to someone else for the heat treat part! :D

Knowing that you might have to file the whole thing paints a funny picture. The cable grinds easy and you should see the temper lines when you clay treat.

With the exception to the chisel grinds, that ain't too shabby, Michael! I gots it all figgered out, though, so stay tuned. If I was as fast at grinding as my man Kim is I'd be done already. ;)
