Hey folks,

Im on the hunt for a CABS that I figure would be ideal to piggy back with my BWM. However during this hunt i have been stalking threads regarding bushcraft steel and it seems that infi is less sought after for this task. I am still on the hunt for infi but have been broadening my search. What wouldbe the ideal blade that you would piggy back with the BWM? I just want to make sure that i'm not missing something that is right under my nose. I plan to get a custom sheath for the pair. Pics are nice if you have them. I was looking at the SAR3 but it seems too small for my hands, though I havent ruled it out. SAR4 is too big and I hear the MUK losesits edge too quickly. Any thoughts?

The Cultellus would be a fine choice for a piggy back on that BWM.

Might look at the Game Warden line as well, the handles on those are a little larger than the SAR.

Active Duty wouldn't be a bad choice either.

I would vote SAR 3 but the Scrapper 5 in INFI would be a great choice as well.

Any of the MNR class and down, also don't rule out the Rodent Solution & RMD. As far as the BUSHCRAFT STEEL thing, I don't have a problem with it. I don't leave the house without a piece of INFI on my person or at least in the vehicle if I'm going to a sheeple location. I cut rope, boxes, camping sticks, meat, open plastic packages, whatever. If I want something to carve out a horse in a piece of wood I use an exacto knife, for all other task I just use a knife, INFI, and call it good.

Thanks. Im looking into the GW. I think the cultellus may be too small in the hand though I have never held one. I would love one as a neck/steak knife though. I keep looking at all the lovely CABS out there but none are for sale.

Did you order a Basic 4? We should know very soon as they are supposed to ship at anytime now! I have a CABS and can understand why you seek it. I do see them occasionally on the exchange.

The basic 4 may be what I need. We'll see. Maybe a basic 4 will hit the exchange soon.

I like to pair a quality folder with my large fixed blade. Currently an XM-18 slicer grind.

I went a little off track and have decided on an anorexic muk. I love that design so much that I will be making it my weekend/cottage carrier. I also think it will pair nicely with my BWM and as soon as I get some kydex inserts made for both I will be passing them to my leather guy who will give it a little swinkel style. This guy is convinced that he can copy that type of sheath, with a little variation of course. I may some winter decide to send them both to busse for a scale change. I'm pretty happy with this choice.

For me, the CABS makes a perfect companoin knife for the BWM. They work well and look good together.

Definitely will garth. I need the kydex inserts first though. I gotta mind to get a kit myself and bite the bullett.
