I wanted a small backup firesteel with my bk11 that was not big or bulky and i didnt want it hanging like a lanyard so i simply added it on the paracord in the handle. The bottle opener still functions perfectly, trust me im testing that out well!!!

i also added the magnesium toggle to the other side but i didnt like how it looked as it didnt match the black so i took it off. i played around a while with it and added the firesteel to the sheath first so i could use the knife on the firesteel toggle but didnt like this either. the way the firesteel is on it now i would have to untie it to use it. im ok with this as its meant as a backup firestarter anyway.

i did try putting it on the other side with the loose paracord then i could slide it down the lanyard long enough to use with the knife but i always wear this on my neck and i didnt like the long lanyard hanging down.

also i had to remove the "paracord" wrap that came with it, it wasnt paracord and wouldnt fit thru the toggle, i replaced with paracord and it fit, albeit tightly.

And that is my first attempt at a bracelet i made a few weeks ago. i got the toggles from firesteel.com just to make that bracelet. it turned out pretty good but i never put it on my wrist so i decided to put them to better use.

Oh and so this thread isnt useless here is a pic :)

Now that i figured out how ill keep it, i can unwrap it and run it tighter. thats it folks, another cheap simple idea for an amazing knife.

I added the firesteel key striker to the sheath, now i can slide it around and use it when needed.

i just need to hit up the harware store so i can replace with black flush mounting hardware. also i might sand down the back of the key to make it sit more flush.

Grinded down one side of the key with a dremel, forced a patina on the striker and switched and put it on the small eyelet under the paracord now it sits perfect and can slide around without rubbing on the contours of the sheath. still need black hardware but im happy.

Thanks man, im all about keeping it simple!

if i had the bk14 i wouldnt be able to use my safety knot or have the firesteel sit the way it does on the handle. but my pinky could half way fit?

Long live bk11!

I kinda like this better, what do yall think should i keep it on the side or keep it with the paracord wrap?
