This is an order I've finished for a BF member.
The main knife is the Alaskan design, scaled up for his hands and desire for a bit more grip length and blade length.
OAL- 14 5/8 inches, with a blade at about 9 inches. Handle is very thick, pulling out 1 to 1 1/8 inches throughout. Balance is still right at the ricasso
The companion knife is 7 3/4 inches with a blade of 4 inches.
Both are ground with slightly different angles, but are both slightly convexed scandi grinds- or "scandivex". The angle is a bit more obtuse on the Alaskan overall, with a varialble grind so it's a bit thicker out in the chopping sweet spot.
Handles are made of masur birch, which I haven't worked with before. I really love this wood.
Sheaths are set up as an exploer model for the alaskan and expedition model for the companion. The belt hanger can be mounted through the straps of the larger sheath to carry the smaller piggybacked. Both can be carried individually, or with belt hangers removed, tied to packs or straps.
