Pikal fixed blade?

So any chance Spyderco might come up with a fixed blade version of the Pikal? I'd be happy with with one the with same size and blade shape as the folder.

I remember someone mentioning a pikal blade prototype at either blade, shot or the Amsterdam meet. I am anxiously awaiting it as well if it does, in fact, exist.

ok. I did the research and finally found what I was looking for.

First post in bold "Reverse Fixed Blade"

http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?58476-Visited-Spyderco-at-SHOT-so-many-knives-in-the-works!

In the video at 6:57 (or watch the entire video if you haven't already, I like when guys like MJ, Ed schempp, etc talk about design philosophy) in the lower left hand corner is what I think is the blade to which I'm referring. Though, it doesn't have the pronounced pinky choil in the video if the knife were to be utilized RGEI, but as the other link states, the scaled were meant to be reversible so the blade mightbe utilized in different grips. Supposedly being a collab between MJ and southnarc, this would make for a more versatile knife instead of being used solely for a pikal grip or solely for a filipino grip. Or....I'm full of crap:)

I like the non-spyderco one. Who made it? Reminds me of the shivworks clinch pick. +1

Thank you. Made by Paul Moore, called the BOB. I believe it is made with permission from sn. It's like a cp, just a little different.

Some time ago, we asked for a fixed p'kal from Sal. He said definitely not. He seems to have changed his mind then. :)

Good thing a good friend gifted me this one.

Been meaning to get a Goldsworthy after seeing one of your other ones.

Also sent you an email singularity.

I love this persian pakal, as Mark calls it. It's a very devastating cutter. I only have this one BTW. The person you are referring to must be a lucky guy to have a few Goldworthy's. Only one guy I know who has a few of Mark's. :)

Replied to your email.

I truly like the idea of a Pikal model in a fixed blade. With the super progress that Spyderco has made in the fixed blade arena I think it's high time to think out of the box so to speak and do some models that no other knife company would dare do.

I also think it's high time for a fixed blade Hawkbilll as well. Both of these ideas would be an explosive addition to Spyderco's growing fixed blade selection. I also wish that they would bring back a Temperance 1 in either one of the newer supersteels or make one for the H-1 Salt Series. I truly believe that Spyderco's fixed blade sector could rock the market if they would play their cards right.

Looks like Loki is causing Pakal trouble. (he's caused P'Kal trouble in the past ). Looks like Singularity is also a troublemaker. :p

Mike J, Southnarc and Eric are working on a design that has multiple function capability, including Pakal.

I don't remember saying "never", but Singularity is younger and probably has a better memory. ;). I do have 2 designs for a fixed P'Kal based on the folder pattern. One is a simple full tang (skeletonized) with ergonomic G-10 scales. Small hole (trademark), no Emerson Opener, no clip.

Sal... Guilty as charged! Hope you can bring these designs to the market! Thanks for reading the post and responding.
