DDR gave me some Carbon V and asked that I build him a knife. This is the final product. I don't have much words here except that I feel extremely honored to have been asked to make this happen.

Steel is .140" Carbon V with red G10. Edge quenched. Besh Wedge. Sharpened swedge.

Very cool. I have to wonder if his DDR-ness thought this might slow you down from giving him projects to do. For an increasingly famous knifemaker, your turnaround times are awfully quick. You've got to learn to stretch things out more.

Seriously, though, that's a cool knife and if it were in budget I'd get one myself.

Hey Matt, I can't listen to the video at work (no sound), but I'm curious about the handle shape. Is the large cutout, in front of the handle, comfortable? It looks quite deep. Sort of reminds me of how some Emerson CQC's are cut out (which I surprisingly find comfortable).

The finger choil is comfortable in the reverse grip but is also functional in the "Jack The Ripper" grip as well. That's why I added a sharpened swedge last minute.

Matt it's a great honor to have you build me a night buddy. I have a drawer full of knives that I've collected over the years none of them are as personal as this night is to me. I've known you since you were in the sandbox of seeing you go through hell. The other thing is about your sobriety and your struggles that you have overcome in your life. God bless Matt thank you

This community is truly awesome and inspiring. That is all I can say after reading this thread.

When I say my bedtime prayers... one of the things I thank God for is the online knife community.

Great looking knife! I like the handle a lot.

Question though. I have a lot of different types of knives but no pikal types so maybe this is just ignorance, but why isn't the tip pointy sharp?

It's a grind called the Besh Wedge, used with permission from Brent Beshara. It is very pointy when viewed from an angle.

I make regular Pikal too if you want one... :D
