I just recieved a BRKT Bravo Necker this week, and I've been playing around with it. I got the Orange version of the knife. Even though the knife has a skeletonized handle, I found it actually pretty comfortable to handle in routine use. The blade came from the manufacturer with a very good edge that cut cleanly and seems to hold up nicely. I think the uncoated blade surface and hollow grind really add to its ease of cutting.

One cool little feature of the kydex neck sheath is that it has a space for a Mische firesteel. Very handy to have in the woods!

While the skeletonized handle does made the knife lighter and a bit less bulky, I decided to get the optional micarta scales to go with the knife. These are a little pricey, but they fit nicely and make the knife much more comfortable in the hand.

With the scales attached, the knife is kind of pushing "neckability" in my opinion, so I finally decided to get the optional leather belt sheath, too. Its a custom design by Sharpshooter leather, which features a cool thumb-break retention system, plus a loop for the same Mische firesteel as the kydex sheath will hold. Great construction and materials and I'm sure this "system" is going to be riding my hip on many future hikes in woods.

Now, I really like my pimped out Necker, but I have to admit adding these extras really inflates the cost of the whole set up. The knife, scales, firesteel and sheath are much more than twice the base cost of the knife alone.

Stick with the Kydex and then wrap the handle :D
I know lots of people like cord wrapped handles, but I hate them so the micarta scales were a no brainer. I could probably have rigged the original kydex sheather for belt carry (perhaps with a tek lok?) but the leather sheath is so nice I could not resist.

In the end it is probably not the most cost-effective solution for a small belt knife, but I like it.

It would be alot cheaper then the Micrata and custom sheath but its your knife and you can and should do whatever you want with it. I might pick one of those up for myself.

I've had my eye on this same set-up for quite awhile now. It looks like a nice slicer, as compared to some of the coated blades, like the Izula. But guys sure seem to love the Izula, so maybe the coating on it isn't really that much of an issue. Congratulations on a great looking blade.

I think part of the Izula's appeal vs the Bravo necker is that it costs WAY less, especially if you get all the options on the BR.

As good as the Izula is, I still think the Bravo is bit better IMHO. :)

Nice pictures guys. I have a black one with the ghost green g-10 scales on the way. I'm pretty sure the supplied kydex sheath will be the first thing I replace. I plan on making a fold over style (not sure what color yet) with a removable firesteel loop.

If the Bravo + scales weren't so expensive (compared to the Izula) it would be a no-brainer for me to choose between the two .
With some of the color combinations the Bravo looks G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S.
