Pimp my Recon Scout.

I got a CS Recon Scout about 2 wks ago. I am thinking about cutting the top guard off (the one along the spine of the knife) and stripping the black finish off the blade. Whats the best procedure for this? Do I hit the hardware store for a Dremel?

I did the same thing on a Kabar Pilot Survival knife. Use a hacksaw to cut, and a belt sander to clean it up, it looks good. You can also use paint stripper to take off the coating, but you'll probably want to hand sand the blade down afterwards, the finish is pretty rough underneath.

I had that done by Justin of Ranger Knives-as well as had him put on a G-10 handle
