Just received this knife yesterday and since I didn't have any paracord on hand I decided to make a set of scales for it out of Walnut. Easy project and It fits better in the hand. This was one sharp knife. Just ran it on a strop with 0.05 diamond spray. WOW Hope they come out with their folder soon w/ D2 steel.
Thanks for looking.

I like those scales nice job. I suppose its friction holding them on right? I'd like to make a full size set of scales so that they actually go all the way back to the pommel. Maybe make a lanyard hole at the end...

Nice work...and nice piece of walnut. Did you treat the walnut with anything? The top pic looks darker, like you rubbed oil or something onto it. Maybe just different lighting.

Thanks for the nice comments.

The scales are screwed into a piece of 1/8" aluminum (tapped for 6-32 thread) I contoured to fit the the opening in the frame. The 1/8 is a little thinner then the frame so the screws pull the scales tight to the frame and it doesn't move in any direction.
Easy to remove if I want to change it out. I guess I could have made it to the end and just put flared tubing in the end of the wood for a lanyard. Good idea.

The color difference is just from the lighting. It's actually the darker of the two pics. Rubbed Boiled Linseed Oil on the walnut.
