I haven't received it yet, it should be here tomorrow. However Sergei did send me a pic just to whet the appetite. Here it is showing the new smooth CF scale he made for me. It turned out exactly as I'd hoped.

Sergei, I hope.you don't mind me using your picture. If you have any problem with me posting the pic I'll remove it. The other side is heat treat colored. I'll post a complete set of pics when the knife arrives. It looked so good to me I couldn't help this little preview.

That looks outstanding, the 0551 has become one of my favorite knives to carry. By the way mine is on it's way getting a nice ivory scale made, and having all the screws and back spacers bead blasted.
 
Excellent work..... I believe I'll be hunting a custom scale for mine before long. Does the pimp need the actual knife to do the job?
 
Wow, that looks fantastic. I love CF, so I might have to send one of my 0551s to him for that, too.
 
Thank you guys for all the nice comments. I am extremely happy with the way it turned out and I haven't even seen the other side yet.

I don't know if he would need the knife to do the scale but he goes by Trix2004 here on BF. I'm sure if you PM him he can answer all your questions.

..I had already planned on doing the exact same thing to mine when I get caught up on work. I'm also throwing in a Titanium liner to replace that rust bucket 416 job (:p) that came with it! It'll be pimpalicious then...

That's gorgeous man! Congrats! I'm kicking myself for missing these knives but will definitely try for the new flipper that's due in a few months.
 
Now that would have been something to see in person. A week too early!
