So I bought this "Hand forged" knife on Amazon, it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. When it arrived I was so shocked by the poor quality I just had to "pimp it out". I've only done this a couple of times but I hope you enjoy the process.
I started by soaking it in vinegar for 24 hours to remove the beastly black coating on the entire knife.
After that I gave it a light brush with steel wool to get all of it off.
Once that was finished I started grinding the tang with my angle grinder and bench grinder.
Then I ground a finger choil, ground the spine to 90 degrees, and put a better edge on the blade.
The last step I was able to get to was cutting out the handle material, from some scarp wood I had lying around.
I'll try to post more images tomorrow if I can get more work done. Thanks for looking.
