"Pimping"/Upgrading Spyderco Police with bronze washers, removable fasteners?

The Spyderco Police G10 is one of my favorite knives for sentimental reasons. I was able to score one recently, but I haven't been playing with it much because the pivot/action feels a little gritty. In general, my favorite folding knives are Chris Reeve because I enjoy taking apart my knife for cleaning. I understand the Spyderco Police was not made for that, and I fully take any responsibility for voiding the warranty.

What I'd like to know is, is it possible for me to have a competent tradesman take apart my Spyderco Police, remove all of the fasteners, replace them with hand-fit torx fasteners, and upgrade the washer to a hand-fit phospho-bronze washer.

My goal would be that I can open and close (but not flick) the knife open as much as I want, and also be able to take apart and re-assemble it without problems. I'd be willing to pay well for the work, but my concern is that it may not be possible, or that the person might mess it up and these vintage knives are almost irreplaceable. It took me months and dozens of hours to find the one I found. Any thoughts on this project?

Good luck. The fasteners would have to be smaller than any I've found so far, as there is simply not enough material available to bore the pin holes out to eighth inch to accommodate the smallest barrel fasteners I could find. The lack of a liner on one side might present a problem as well. I'm sure a sufficiently skilled maker could build what you want, but I don't know how much Police Model would be left.

By the way, which one did you score? The hollow saber grind with no liners, the flat ground with no liners or the flat ground with single liner? If it's the hollow grind GIN-1 I wouldn't even think about doing this until I scored another one. That one is getting really hard to find. There weren't all that many of them made.

I scored two! A hollow saber grind no liners ATS55, and a flat ground single liner ATS55.

I was hoping for a GIN-1 Saber Grind but couldn't find one and these are close enough that I stopped looking. I'd still like one but not worth the effort of scouring the world for it! :)

Saber grind ATS55? Gee, thanks. Now I have another variation to look for. Like two dozen wasn't enough.
