Pardon my pictures , I wish they were as clear as some I have seen on here , but it is a miracle they came out this good.:D

Bottom up.

Wallymart Scallion.

Had this knife for a year or so before I decided to make some changes.
No offense to Kershaw but the big Kershaw logo on the handle annoyed me , so I toyed with ideas on how to change it , plus it always felt a little slippery , so I disassembled it and modded it.
The handles I gave a brushed aluminum look and added a little sig line , the plastic backspacer I did a simple filework , added some more class :D , the clip was also scrubbed , has sort of a work-hardened look to it now , the lock was modded to so it has a little more oomph and centered in locked position , all screws polished.

Leek

Love this knife now !
After purchasing it I was kinda 'meh' about it , why you ask ? The beadblast.. Once I re-finished the appearance it became one of my favorite folders.
Looks much better in person , wish my camera could capture how cool it looks but , I 'misted' the handles and the pocket clip , they both have sort of a work-hardened lite look to them, all screws were polished , the lock oomph'd and perfectly adjusted , it now locks like a mini vault , to be honest I did not trust the lock before adjustment , but I'm picky like that. Backspacer was fileworked ( yes you can filework plastic :D ).
I want the Ti version badly now.....

Ener-g 2

Just got this babe today , do not know if I will do anything to this yet , but this is a pretty cool knife , one of the few linerlocks I have bought that has nearly perfect lockup for my tastes.
This thing is a tank ! Very solid construction , nice-thick liners , innovative flipper.
Not overly fond of the grip tape stuff on the handles but maybe that will be fuel for a future project... :p

Groove

I love this knife , even moreso after I modded it , I gave it some extra jimping near the stoppin to match the jimping on the end of the handle , I've toyed with the G10 some , the scales will be replaced with full G10 when I get my mail from Texas Knife Makers.
All jimping was darkened with my special process , adds a ton of chracter to it IMO , the lock was oomph'd and shorted just a hair so it fully engages , the handles have a brushed look now which matches the look of the blade , although you wont see that once I install full scales of G10.
This is really a tank of a knife ! The pocketclip was also brushed , no offense to anyon'es tastes but I am quite bored with beadblast finishes and do not mind doing the work myself to make it 'mine'. :D

Sharkey Ridge

Another knife I am awe of , this is really a neat little folder.
G10 and ATS34 !
I love the blade shape , plenty of belly and point and sharp !
The liners on this badboy were polished, the lock oomph'd and filed down so it does not stick up as much it used to where the fingers meet the handle , hope that makes sense. All screws polished.
I ordered some red plastic spacer as well as G10 , I will put the red spcaer in between the G10 on this knife and the liner , that is going to look so sweet !
Wish it would have came in the mail today..... :o
This knife might go clipless as I do not like the clip and think it might be good to just carry in the pocket , but am not concrete on that yet.

Vapor II

This knife was the beadblast version , got it on sale at OSH for cheap cheap !
but it was begging me to make it look nicer , so.... Handles were scrubbed ,heated and chem'd , they now appear olive drab in color , the blade was also chem'd and it turned out near black , all screws polished , all in all the overall appearance is of a much costlier knife IMO
The lock was also modded and lockup is perfect.

Thanks for looking , please comment !!

My Chive and new Scallion are both in pieces waiting for me to finish them , will post pics when I finish future mods.

Thanks , Todd

Nice job, Rebel

Way to step out and get creative. You've done a nice job. I like the groove a lot, and the finish on the Vapor is something you don't see all the time.

Cheers,
Jon

my favorite is the handle on the scallion. doesn't go with the darker blade, but the handle looks WOW

Who makes that Sharkey Ridge knife? I've never seen that one before.

It is actually Starkey Ridge. Slight mis-spelling by rebeltf. ;)
Model # 1415G10 if I'm not mistaken. Model #1410's had Ti handles.
Why the hell do I know these things? I've been brainwashed

Nice work.

If I understand correctly, you "oomph'd" the lock on your Leek by filing down the backspacer?

I also am not sure how much I trust the lock on my Leek. It seems to have the bare minimum amount of spring to it, an it seem to only minimally engage the blade. Otherwise, I think it is a great knife.

M.

I really like the look of that vapor. What do you use to "chem" it?

When you say you "oomphed" the locks, do you just mean stressed them more towards to locked position, or something else?

By all means, get the TiZDP leek. It's slightly thinner than the others and it's the top of the line Leek. My opinion is that it is one of the best EDCs you can own regardless of price. I have 4 Leeks. Random ckt, Random cktst, blkvibko and the TiZDP. The others are part of the collection but the TiZDP is part of my EDC rotation.

Thanks for the comments folks.

Mikemock , yea , sorry for my cryptic explanation , I had too much coffee again and my brain waves were not quite right.
By oomph'd I mean I gave the lock more kick by gently bending it at the bend. The filing of the lockbar also so that it comes to rest as directly under the blade ( cant think of proper term) as possible , the goal is to have the lock as perfect as I can tune it.
Some may argue that this lessens the years on the knife , oh well. :D
Before I tuned the Leek I did not trust the lock either , it berly engaged and while I did not forsee hardcore work done with the Leek I still like to feel secure when using my knives.
Of course I do not blame Kershaw for this , hell it's a production knife and I like to do the work as it is.

kjbenner , the chem'd is using etchtant and gun blue to achieve a different look on the handles.
My pics did not come out good enough to show but it really does look nicer. IMO.

Thanks again for the comments folks , still waiting on my G10 , will post pics of the Groove when it is done.

oh and thanks to 2Brothers for pointing out my spelling mishap , shoulda been Starkey Ridge. :D:D

:D:D

Thanks,

I tried to bend mine, but since I can't get the blade off there was only a limited amount of oomph I could put in.

also, I think you will probably get tired of it long before you wear it out.

I know for my purposes it is a hear perfect knife, but already I am looking for another small lightweight pocket knife. I am considering an Al Mar Falcon Lightweight. Will my Leek be jealous?
