There is a little slot behind the corckscrew on the scale of my Climber. Will this fit the needle that is used on the Swiss Card?

If so, I am going to get a dozen off fleabay.

Why get them mail order? Aren't those standard pins available from shops that sell sewing equipment?

I don't know. Could be. I went on and ordered a full kit with the corkscrew mini screwdrivers, toothpicks, tweezers and pins.

Funny story. Once I finally got around to replacing the lost toothpicks and pen from my Swisschamp and Tinker, while I was at it, ordered a few extras of each, plus tweezers and tiny corkscrew-mounted screwdriver for future replacements. That was 10 years ago. Since then, I have not needed any of them. Go figure.

Ha! For me it would be opposite. I'd look at the parts and say, "I won't need the extra toothpick." Then, lose one.

My pin came in and I compared it to the one from Vic. The one from Vic just has a broader head and is easier to get out.

Note that the official Vic pins are stainless steel, unlike most sewing pins. This may be an advantage. My Waiter came with the hole for a pin, and I found one around the house that fits. Pins vary in diameter, so you may have to try a few.

 Now I am in trouble. Hearing that there is a pin or needle gadget available for the SAK is going to give me sleepless nights and endless hours of frustration until I check it out and (if possible) obtain one.

My last relapse was learning about the Tiny Screwdriver that fits inside the corkscrew of some models and can be used to tighten the screws of eyeglasses frames. The Victorinox company (both USA and Switzerland) was very helpful obtaining one for me. However, I now see that my Victorinox Spartan with Tiny Screwdriver (Myopic MacGyver model) does not have a sewing needle.

What if I am preparing to receive my Nobel Prize or am about to address Congress and need to sew on a button? Now, I will probably spend hours trying to make a Myopic Seamstress MacGyver model. I need help. I need to find SAK Gadget Lovers Anonymous.

I put a sewing needle in place of the stickpin all my Victorinox Plus scales. I haven't found a nook to wind some thread as of yet.

The space underneath the much maligned parcel hook is perfect for storing a pre-threaded needle. Put about three feet of thread in a medium size needle, wrap the thread around the needle so that it's a tad thicker than the pen, and pop it it in. Use the pen tip to pop the needle out when you want to use the hook slot as a pen holder... or when you need to sew up something!

One the topic of thread... The mini-screwdriver magnetizes easily... if you hang it from a piece of thread, it makes a halfway decent compass. I carry a NATO mini compass in my wallet... the magnetized-mini-screwdriver-on-a-thread actually settles down and points to north more quickly than this little military brass compass I paid a pretty penny for.

As much as it comes to my experience - every needle will fit in that little slot, as long as it is not too long nor it has a "head".

Good idea. I'm going to give it a try.
