Is pinning or soldering the strongest way to attach bolsters on folders....if they do not need to be removed(screws, etc.)?

Pinning should be plenty strong enough. when I was playing around with slip joints and lock backs I found I liked to soilder to mainly hold the bolster solid till I was ready to pin. Epoxy or supper glue would problaby work as well as the main strength is from the pin. I used brass linners and brass bolster and non acid soilder and haven't had a problem. If I was to do it again I'd problaby still soilder them on.

I know from my research into making hydraulic presses that making presses over a certian tonnage (I think it was 50 ton.) that welding is not sufficient and pinning with hardened pins was the next step up. I know this is a different application, But one I think is relevant. I've always used pins, but then I'm not worth a pigs ear for soldering.
