I don't know how much interest there may be in the topic, but wanted to show these ones.
Being in Mexico I get to participate in pinata parties often, the pinatas are often elaborate but the sticks are usually not that good. Here's a couple that I made for this season. He he, I guess they could be used for self defense in a pinch.
Both are made from 1.5" diameter wood rod, selected for a good straight grain, handles carved with a sharp hunting knife, then smoothed with a rasp, sanded and varnished.
The larger one, dyed brown, is dense and heavy, 31.5" long and has already broken 6 pinatas this season, the smaller one I made for the little kids, it is much lighter and softer, 25.5" long.
