I don't know how much interest there may be in the topic, but wanted to show these ones.

Being in Mexico I get to participate in pinata parties often, the pinatas are often elaborate but the sticks are usually not that good. Here's a couple that I made for this season. He he, I guess they could be used for self defense in a pinch.

Both are made from 1.5" diameter wood rod, selected for a good straight grain, handles carved with a sharp hunting knife, then smoothed with a rasp, sanded and varnished.

The larger one, dyed brown, is dense and heavy, 31.5" long and has already broken 6 pinatas this season, the smaller one I made for the little kids, it is much lighter and softer, 25.5" long.

Nice, but here in the PRK they would probably be illegal as billy clubs.

I think some nice kali/escrima sticks would also be good for that application.

Good job on those!

I think you can own Billy Clubs if you keep them in your car as "Tire pressure Checkers" alot of the ones I see at Flea Markets say Tire Thumper on them. I took one to a Melon and it was pretty sweet.

It can be a felony in CA if you are wrong. And I don't think it matters what they are purportedly for. You can take an assault rifle and label it "squirrel gun" but if the authorities bust you, I wouldn't count on the description serving as a defense.
