I will be posting a how to kind of thread later on this project in MTandE.

For my buddys girl friend.
We have been working on it all week little by little.

We managed to cut the slabs in half to make another knife too.
One side has the center of the pine comb and the other side has what would be the outside of the pine comb in the resin.
I really like it but damn not easy to work with at all.
This is it before final polishing and the clip. And Sorry for the poor lighting and camera skills.

Lol,
thanks pal. I appreciate it.

I just noticed that. You know the kind for your hair, pine comb.

Thanks guys, its a first for me. And I am pleased at how amazing it looks. I am a fan of shokwood and this type of material. Not so much for hard users but for having something super unique.

You will have some sweet photos to look at when my friend writes the thread showing some of the process.

I have to say it was a pain to work with. The material can be problematic and it is easy to ruin a while slab by snapping it at a weak point. I added some epoxy in key areas before final shaping to ensure strength.

Thank you much my friends.
I just like to see what people think of these materials. I love nature and its a colorful symphony of synthetic nature. If I can call it that.

Terrific concept and beautiful execution. Looking forward to the writeup.

Interesting fish scale effect (convergent artistic evolution?):
