I finally got to do a little chopping. Albeit a very little. There is an old pine tree in our back yard that apparently the previous owner planted on a whim... right next to one of our great Pecan Trees. That thing has bugged me for 2 Summers trying to mow around it so I finally put my Heavy Heart and new DogFather to some good use. Only took about 5 minutes... and that included making sure my Lab wasn't in the way of the falling tree and snapping a few pics.

Here's some pics...

Both knives did an excellent job. There was however a VERY faint edge roll on the DF. The handle on the DF would be much more comfortable if I were to use it a lot, but both fit well in the hand. I may have to see if I can find a Busse Basic 9 now that I like the handle material on the DF as a good user.

I may have to work the edge a bit on the HH as the DF is a bit sharper.

Ha ha... yeah, I'm thinkin' it might take more like a full weekends worth of work, several bottles of scotch, and several arms and blades swing'n to take down that huge Pecan tree... but if it ever gives me fits, it better watch out.

(probably just break out the chain saw and leave the busses for other jobs)
