hi all...got a question...i finally found a peice of Pink Ivory that i could afford...i fitted a knife with a peice of the stuff...looks very cool..only thing is ..i was wondering what you guys use to finish it or if any of you have used it...the darn stuff is expensive ( $160 a board foot ) so i don`t want to screw too much of it up!!

Pink ivory is lovely wood, but has a bad habit of turning brown after awhile...

You might try sealing it with clear UV resistant acrylic spray...Krylon #1305 I think it is...You can buy it at an arts and craft store...

Gently warm the handles if you have a cold shop and spray it on, wait a few seconds and then wipe it off with a paper towel...Do this about three times or so...

Wrap a paper towel around the blade to keep the spray off of it and after it dries, clean up the spine with acetone if need be...

This will help to keep the color from fading...

If you would like to see one of our knives with pink ivory follow this link:
