I'm frustrated!

I have looked everywhere I can think of, I've tried dying(it just ain't right), I've tried faux leather(that was a waste of time), I've even torn up my 5 yr old daughter's make-up bag. But, alas, no joy.

Aggggggggghhhhhhh!!

Anyone with any suggestions on where to find lightweight veg tanned leather suitable for lining a sheath..... in PINK?

Thanks,

-Peter

The water based dye/paint from Tandy works well. I did a clutch purse with it and it turned out nice.

You won't find vegetable tanned leather in pink.
You'll get it as chrome tanned.
You can make whatever you make from vegetable tanned and cover it with chrome tanned.
I've done a few sheets that way.

For veg tanned leather, use Tandy Cova dye. It is water based, and the color can be anything from a paint-like look when used full strength to a tint-like toner when diluted. Another choice is the alcohol based wood dyes from Woodcraft. Expect the color to be mottled a bit, as lighter colors on veg tan will always show some variegation.

As he mentioned, you can't get vegetable tanned leather in pink for sure. Don't go Faux however I was researching about PU Leather and how its made. Came across this blog where they mention that even PU leather contains split leather backing and tanned with polyurethane. This you can totally get in pink colour.
