Hello all, I decided to dye my pink manix2 purple.

I chose purple because one that is pretty much all the supermarket had... two, I like purple...

Took off the scales, and dyed them using rit. I left the pot on a simmer for about 20 minutes. To be honest, I think I made them a little too dark, but thats ok.

Here are the pictures:
Please note that the pictures do not do the color justice.

With some other purple knives to gauge the "purpleness"

Not the most accurate representation of the color but it's the best I can do. It's a little lighter and has a slight reddish tint in real life. What did you do to make the lanyard pipe fit again?

When I took it apart I pulled them off which took some effort.

When I put them back on I encountered some trouble again. I basically wiggled, and jiggled the scales back on.

There is just a hair and I mean hair of "scale play" near the lanyard hole. I was going to maybe try and glue the scale to the liner which just a simple dab of crazy glue near the lanyard hole.

What I did was to find a metal rod that fit the pipe (which is easy to do since the pipe is a standard size) and expanding it by rotating the rod in a circular motion while the scales were clamped to the liners. It got rid of the play but I'm guessing it's not nearly as tight as it was before.
