Hey all, I'm looking to get my wife a pink knife. A quick search turned up a bunch of folders:
Browning Getaway
Kershaw Scallion, Leek, Chive
Buck 284, 285, Impulse
Boker Magnum Cinch Cruel Girl
Kershaw D.W.O.
Ka-bar Dozier
Spyderco Native
Benchmade Mini Griptilian

And only one fixed, the ESEE Izula.

I was wondering what your thoughts are for what would be the best knife to take out hiking, minor camp chores, but still able to take a beating and get things done if she ever gets separated from me. She's not good with knives at all, and I want to teach her some things.

I'm a fixed blade guy and I like ESEE so I was going to get her an Izula, but... any other opinions on the folders or choices out there that my Google Fu did not conquer?

The Pink Izula will take the best beating outdoors, but may not remain pink for very long. I'd probably go with the Mini Grip, if I were choosing a pink knife. If the color lasting doesn't matter, get the Izula with scales or wrap it in some pink paracord.

Thanks, all. I don't know, something about a folder still throws me off... I think I'm going to end up with the Izula if I can't find a good Cupidvore + sheath/kit.

Thanks!

Definitely the Izula.

seems like I saw some pics the jeff randal posted of the rowen workshop with pink junglas blades in the background. Might keep an eye out for that.

Where did you find that sweet paracord?

Paracord.com I believe. The color is called "Cotton Candy", though the picture isn't all that accurate. In the picture on their site, the greyish color looks way more blue then it is.

It's so odd to me that all the pink ones are limited to folders and neck knives.
I guess a pink machete would look kind of odd at first, but that's how stereotypes change, right?... says the guy getting a pink knife for a lady :p nah seriously though, she really wants pink but I don't want her to have such few practical options, too
